Christmas 2008
I have to admit I actually took a break this holiday season, staying away from the computer as much as possible. But now that my holiday is coming to a close I thought I should post some shots from the holiday season.
Here’s a shot of the holiday baking I did this season:

A shot of the presents and filled stockings under the tree:

Noah waits patiently for his sister to wake up, while keeping an eye on the presents:

Rebecca checks out the contents of her stocking:

Rebecca LOVES her new winter hat, wears it while trying out a new game for the wii:

Noah plays with a new gift while keeping an eye on the wii action:

Hope all my clients and those who follow my blog had a wonderful holiday season!

SavvyMom Christmas Party
The kids and I had a great time at the recent SavvyMom Holiday party held at the Granite Club.
Air hockey was a popular choice!

Noah is gleeful with victory over his sister! lol

Five pin bowling was also fun!

The following are shots of the other SavvyMom kids in attendance. (You may recognize the first two if you’ve been following my blog for a while…)

At the end of the party we went in search of some natural light for a couple of head shots for the ‘About Us’ section of SavvyMom.ca.
Denise is the Food Editor for EatSavvy, and you may also remember how from this shoot back in October 2007:

Andrea is the Director, Sales and New Business Development at SavvyMom Media:

All and all a great time was had by all, and we all received gift bags of extremely yummy cookies to take home with us as well!

Out & About & Haircuts
Catch up time again! Kids and I went out the other week, hoping to get haircuts for both of them…unfortunately our haircut place was closed (due to construction on the street and no hot water!), so we ended up just running some errands.
Noah, on Yonge Street:

I can only catch fleeting glances of my daughter at times!

Had Noah pause for a moment, as I knew the out-of-focus ties in the background would offer an interesting colour backdrop:

At the dollar store a fellow asked if we could watch his dog while he ran in for a few minutes. Love how dogs just watch and wait patiently for their owners, you can tell that their owners are their lives, too cute!

Noah, in front of a Christmas light filled tree:

Rebecca, giving me the ‘look’:

In one of my son’s FAVOURITE stores, “Kidding Awound”, Rebecca checks out the merchandise:

Noah enjoys the garden/park in Yorkville:

Colourful holiday shop windows make for a very good background:

Finally, we return for hair cuts!

Don’t you just love it when your children discover the love of reading? Noah works on finishing his book while we wait for his sister to be finished with her haircut:

Rebecca, with her new hairdo. (Unfortunately she hates it now! lol)

That’s all for the moment, but will be posting more in a day or two!

Catching Up!
Looking back through my database of photos I realized that I missed posting some to the blog!
Oh, don’t we all wish it was this warm outside now? Love the bokeh of the out-of-focus trees in the background in this shot and the one below:

My children, showing some sibling love!

As I recall I couldn’t get Noah to sit still for long, or even look at the camera!

He did want to scooter though!

Refreshed my look this fall, and took some self portraits, I was happiest these two:

I’ve been trying to perfect my latté art, here are two attempts:

Now, don’t confuse these photographs of my sister, Monica, as more self-portraits! We do look alike, because we are twins! When she was over for Thanksgiving dinner I suggested I take a good photograph of her because she just looked fabulous, don’t you agree? ![]()
The first two images were taken in my front hallway, which gives great light for this, you may remember the photograph of my friend Diane that I took in the same location:

This one was taken in the driveway beside my house. You may remember photographs of my friend Jeff, taken in the same location almost a year ago:

That’s all for now!

Halloween 2008
Well, I’m a bit behind in my blog posting! Another Halloween has come and gone!
Noah, dressed up for the halloween parade at school:

He was so well disguised that my mother, who was standing right next to me, didn’t recognize him, I had to ask him to remove his mask so she would see him!

Rebecca joined me on walking to collect Noah from school…here she looks quite normal…

…and here she is done up for halloween night!

Sitting on our neighbours front steps:

With our neighbours daughter, Alison, the child vampire!

And just one more shot of her, black nail polish would have finished the look I think!

Noah, practicing for the night ahead:

Thought this was a cool shot with the lit up windows of the house in the background:

And, last but not least, (as I did last year) some halloween pumpkins from the night!

Meet the wonderful W Family! I honestly don’t know how I luck out with such nice clients and well behaved sweet kids!
Here’s a shot of the youngest, Harrison, at the piano, I just LOVE this shot! He’s such a cutie!

Also love this candid I caught of the four kids together, playing thumb wars and rock, paper, scissors! You can see that the younger ones just love their older siblings!

Young Jacob, look at those beautiful blue eyes!

Harrison, such a character he is!

Adore this moment between mom and Jacob, so sweet!

Mom and Harrison just came down the slide in the backyard together, I just adore this shot also! Love the moment that I caught.

Can’t tell that Kyle and Kristen are brother and sister, eh?
They both have the most amazing eyes!

Dad and Jacob in the kitchen, so sweet:

Just look at those cool eyes!

Ok, does this not look like a family in an advert? So cute and so perfect! I just adore the stance of Harrison and Jacob in the front, and Jack (the sweet, sweet dog!) is perfectly posed as well!

Thank you so much Patricia and Wayne! It was wonderful to meet you and your children!

Rebecca, the birthday girl!
My girl is 12 years old today! Hard to believe. It’s gone by fast, but it also seems like a long, long time ago when I remember the day she was born.
Following a tradition we started a few years ago, we went to lunch, just the two of us. Of course, now that she’s in grade 7, it isn’t cool for me to pick her up at school. So she called me on her cell as she got to the restaurant and came inside.

And, yes, she has changed her hair colour!

I picked a table so we were right by the windows, and she was facing them. I’m starting to get used to her new hair colour, kind of. I decided to pick my battles, and hope she will quickly grow out of wanting to change her hair colour!

We took turns checking out the desserts, caught her on the way back:

I asked the restaurant, before she arrived, if they could put a candle in whatever we ordered for dessert:

One last shot before she headed back to school for the afternoon:

Today, on her actual birthday, we had our family celebration:

And another year has pasted!

The P, M & Y Family: Family Photography, Toronto, Ontario
This was another large (extended family) shoot, and what a wonderfully nice family!
Justine, on the left below, found me online and the family hired me to photograph kids, parents and grandparents.
Here is Chloe, with her mom and grandmother, love this shot of the three generations!:

Chloe and her brother Kelly, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this moment!

Kelly is going to be a heartbreaker when he grows up! Beautiful boy! Such a sparkle in his eyes!

Love this moment caught between mother and daughter:

This is Justine’s beautiful sister, Vanessa with her son Max in the background:

Love the soulful look Max is giving the camera, brother Noah is in the background:

How could I resist showing you a close-up of Noah and his beautiful eyes? I couldn’t!

Love this moment between Vanessa’s daughter, Julie, with her mom and dad:

Even though Julie is not terribly happy in this shot, I still love it! Love the bracelets, the shiny black boots, and the look that is so much a three year old!

There were SO many shots that I could have shared from this session, it was so hard to pick which ones to post! But these are definitely some of my favourites. Thank you for finding me online Justine! It was so wonderful to meet and photograph you and your family!

You may remember beautiful Maeve from a newborn session I did back in January, hasn’t she grown!

Check out those blue eyes!

She is just as sweet as she was when she was a newborn, she reminds me so much of my daughter as she’s just a happy baby!

Love this shot of the older siblings, Rhys and Kylie, as it reminds me of the upside down shot I did of them at the January session:

Love how Rhys is holding Maeve’s hand in this shot:

LOVE this shot of Maeve with big sister Kylie in the background! Maeve was just fascinated by her big sister’s shoes!

Love this shot of Mom and Dad in the background, they’re so cute!

Then the kids joined in!

Mom and Dad were so smart to book again now that Maeve is sitting, as babies change so much in the first year! And now they’ll have beautiful images to look back on and to remember this time in their family’s life! I look forward to catching many more images as your family continues to grow Christa and Kelly!
