In today’s social media and online world, having a great profile picture can make all the difference. Headshot mini-sessions take place at an outdoor or indoor location in midtown Toronto.

This mini-session will last 10–15 minutes, with a quick review of the images on the camera LCD to choose your two images. Images will be web quality/resolution, and include colour correction, and retouching. Images will be emailed to you within 24 hours of the headshot session. As an example of the retouching/processing done to each image, this is a before/after from a recent headshot session:

Ryan is the older brother of a previous client, Coby, for whom I did a couple shoot back in February 2010 (see Coby and Ashley’s shoot here). We met on the U of T campus for the headshot session. (All of the following were shot with the Canon 1DMkIV and the Canon 70-200 f2.8L IS lens.)

A few images from a recent shoot at a downtown Toronto law firm:

Dr. Vanessa Arnold, of Body in Balance, needed some up-to-date shots of herself and her studio space for a new website design. Her mom also helped out as the “patient/client”.

My fabulous friend, Janine, from imabeautygeek.com, did the make-up for the shoot and, as per usual, she did a fab job! Wish I had her available to do make-up for me every morning!

Once again, loving my Canon 85 f1.2L lens for the headshots taken outside, everyone of the following (except for the 3rd shot), was taken with this awesome lens from Canon. The other lens I used at the shoot was the Canon 24–70 mm f2.8L lens, which was used for the interiors, except for the last two (in office) shots which were taken with the 85. Kept it simple for the headshots, with a couple of wardrobe changes, we were very happy that the rain held off for the whole shoot!

Liz, from Manifest, needed some new corporate headshots as well as some photos for her comedy improv work. We met up at Verity for her photoshoot.

Equipment Used: All the images here were shot with either the Canon 24–70 mm f2.8L lens or the Canon 85 f1.2L lens.

Verity is a wonderful location for a photoshoot as there are so many different backgrounds/locations to work with. We started in a meeting room with natural brick walls:

Then, in the drizzle, we did some shots in the back alley just for fun. Gives the shoot an urban feel and a great juxtaposition with the gritty alley against the sharp business suit:

Then it really started to rain, so we moved back indoors and borrowed one of the gorgeous hotel rooms available at Verity for a few more shots:

At the very end we moved out to a common area where I placed one of the fabulous pieces of artwork (which are everywhere at Verity!) into the background for a soft dreamy backdrop:
