This past Sunday was cool and wet, perfect day for baking. These Molasses Cookies were delicious:

I saw a great cat photograph on Google+ which motivated me to get out with my camera on Saturday, looking for cats out and about in the neighbourhood.

I met Denise, and just love her one orange paw, isn’t she adorable?:

On Sunday Noah and I headed out to do some errands, at Whole Foods, in Yorkville, and then over to Yonge Street:

Kept it light, and just took my old Canon 5D and the Canon 50 f1.4 lens:

Alice turns two today! (Not that she’s in anyway aware of that fact!

Finnegan is the half-brother of our cat, Alice (you can see more of her here), and he is almost seven months old, and about to become a full-fledged cat, so I went over to my sister’s to capture some shots of him.

We started off in the bedroom:

Then we moved out to the deck. Trying some ‘bokeh’ texture in this one, as I saw a photog friend using it on GooglePlus, this one also adds a bit of texture to the image, think it adds some interest to the background:

Then we escaped from the heat and moved inside, trying another ‘bokeh’ overlay with the first image:

The next time I visit for photos he’ll probably be almost fully grown, with a mane of fur around his head like Alice has.

Jessika is a friend who needed some headshots, so she dropped by for a quick shoot the other night (all of the headshots were taken with the Canon 1DMkIV + Canon 70-200 f2.8L IS lens):

This is a big catch-up blog posting, as I haven’t posted for a while!

I recently went downtown to Queen Street West with my daughter, and we found this adorable fascinator in a downstairs store on Queen Street for just $15, where almost the exact same thing was selling for $30 a half block away! It was an awesome shop, we will certainly visit again soon:

A few weeks ago we were at the Summerhill Reservoir, and we met Gordon, who looks very much like a Golden Retriever I grew up with:

I also took quite a few shots with my iPhone, but need a few more days to do something creative with them! They’ll show up soon!

Finnegan is growing up, and is no longer a little kitten, but a young cat. So it was time for a photo update! (You can also see him here.) He looks very similar to his half-sister Alice (seen here at about the same age), but also quite different. He certainly has a boy personality!

We were trying to get Finn to settle down, for some sleepy shots, so we tried a little snack in the kitchen:

You can’t really tell from these images, but it didn’t work! Finnegan was running around like a loon! No snoozy shots today:

Find at least three other interested groups (families, couples, friends (groups no larger then six), owners with their pets), and every group has a turn being photographed.

Photography parties are a perfect way to get fantastic family pictures, without the cost of a private session. Please see my Photography Packages page for cost details.

On the day of the session, I will arrive at the appointed time. Each group will receive a 30 minute mini-photo-session as well as four digital prints. The host of the party will receive extra time, as well as five digital prints. As the session is based at your home, your photographs with have that additional personal quality, and with the extra time, there will be more opportunity for alternative setups and locations.

This type of session would work well for families, friends, couples and owners with their dogs. It would not work well for newborns, maternity or cat photography (unless the cat resides with the host family, and is of a relaxed enough nature to tolerate such activity).

My family was coming over to celebrate Noah’s birthday, so Finnegan came along too!
