Corporate Photography: Headshots

It was great to return for another session with some of my favorite clients. They were updating their website and took time to reflect on which past photographer had captured the best images—and they decided it was me. That kind of feedback means a lot, and it’s something I hear often from headshot clients.

It was great to return for another session with some of my favorite clients. That kind of feedback means a lot, and it’s something I hear often from headshot clients.

People often comment that they hate having their photo taken. But they end up really liking—or even loving—the photos I take. Helping someone see themselves in a new, more confident way is incredibly rewarding. There’s nothing better than a client walking away happy with both the experience and the image.

I work exclusively with natural light, which gives my headshots a softer, more authentic feel compared to typical studio sessions with artificial lighting and backdrops. Because of that, every session has its own look—shaped by the person, the light, and the environment. I choose the best possible location on the day of the shoot, looking for spots that offer flattering light and a clean, natural background. When I’m shooting downtown, that often means working around unpredictable elements, but I always find a way to make it work.

My approach is to keep things relaxed and comfortable so people can feel like themselves in front of the camera. I do retouch headshots, but my goal is always to preserve the subject’s natural look—just the best version of themselves.

If you’ve been putting off getting a headshot because the idea makes you cringe a little, you’re not alone—and I’d love to help change that.
