Headshot Mini-Session: Corporate or Social Media Headshots, Toronto

In today’s social media and online world, having a great profile picture can make all the difference. Headshot mini-sessions take place at an outdoor or indoor location in downtown Toronto.

This mini-session will last 10–15 minutes, with a quick review of the images on the camera LCD to choose your 2 images. Images will be web quality/resolution, and include colour correction, and retouching. Images will be emailed to you within 24 hours of the headshot session. Jessika is a friend who needed some headshots, so she dropped by for a quick shoot the other night (all of the headshots were taken with the Canon 1DMkIV + Canon 70-200 f2.8L IS lens):

The (half) Birthday Girl: Toronto Family Pet Photography

Funny how you mark the months before the first birthday. Alice turned six months old yesterday, no longer a kitten (sniff), but a beautiful young cat.

(Equipment Used: The following were captured with the Canon EOS-1D MarkIV and the Canon 85 f1.2L lens, all but the first image were shot with the Canon 580EX II Speedlite as well.)

The following were all captured on Wednesday, when Alice decided she wanted to hang out on a crowded shelf (covered rad) in my home office. She seemed to be asking me to clear her a spot:

Which I did, for her comfort, and also to avoid items crashing to the floor as she crowded her way into ‘her spot’, lol:

(The previous storyboard was created from a fab tool called the moirai compositor, which I read about on the amazing Tara Whitney’s blog. Will use it for blogging but also for coffee table books, w00t!)

Coby & Ashley, Kensington Market: Toronto Couple Photography

Love and romance in Kensington Market this Valentine’s Day with my couple photography shoot of Coby & Ashley.

(Equipment Used: Images where shot with the Canon EOS-1D MarkIV, Canon 5D, Canon 85 f1.2L lens, Canon 24–70 mm f2.8L lens and the Lensbaby Composer.)

What a fun neighbourhood for a couple shoot (or a family shoot!), lots of colour, and interesting backdrops.

Love this natural moment I caught of Coby and Ashley on the bench, and the wonderful graffiti & fabric (hanging outside) that made for such colourful backgrounds:

Had to share this whole series, cool locale, and wonderful interaction:

Every time I turned around it seemed I found another interesting backdrop! At the end of the shoot, we jumped on a streetcar, did some shots while riding, and then used the streetcar as a backdrop, so Toronto!

Decided that the images just called out for some texture, love how in this example it adds more depth and interest to the background:

Miles, the Adorable Toddler: Toronto Family Photography

As promised, my larger sneak peek of the adorable toddler Miles. Laura, Miles’ mom, has captured her older daughters in photographs when they each turned one year old, and now it is Mile’s turn. It’s a wonderful age to capture, as they grow so quickly, and change so fast!

(Equipment Used: The following were captured with the Canon EOS-1D MarkIV and the Canon 85 f1.2L lens—in some of the shots, from this shoot, I also used my Canon 580EX II Speedlite.)

Miles has a wonderful little room right off mom and dad’s room:

Miles loves playing in his sisters’ room, with the windows all around it was a perfect spot for photographs:

Look at those blue eyes! Aren’t they amazing? (Shot with the Canon 5D and the Canon 100 mm f2.8 macro lens.)

I can never resist bathtub photos! The water accentuates the eyelashes, which really makes Miles’ beautiful eyes pop. (Next three images were taken with the Canon EOS-1D MarkIV and the Canon 24–70 mm f2.8L lens.)

Always love the snuggling in the towel after the bath shots too!

Can’t wait to go back and photograph Miles with his two older sisters! Laura and I are hoping for some snow, but I don’t know if Mother Nature will co-operate this winter! Fingers are crossed for a fun snowy shoot Laura! 🙂
