Two weeks worth of images!

Wow! Didn’t realize I was so far behind in posting some images!

This one is from about two weeks ago, out and about running some errands:

We stopped by the local vet’s to visit kittens, again:

This past Sunday, once we determined that the weather was going to hold, we decided to make use of a free family pass to Centreville on Centre Island. Here’s a shot of Rebecca on the ferry on the way over to the Island:

During dinner Noah was creating steam from his iced drink, can you see it?

Here Rebecca holds up what Noah choose to get instead of dessert, and funnily enough he named this little guy “Dessert”!

“Dessert” even went for a ride with Noah, see him there? They both had a great time! 😉

At 8:15 pm we caught the ferry back to the mainland, I caught this shot of the skyline:

Then this shot of Rebecca with the skyline in the background:

And who could resist shooting this sky? Beautiful colour and amazing cloud formation as well!

On Monday afternoon we went to the park and I caught this shot of ‘Maggie’s’ nose:
20080826-_W5I5501.jpg

Here is Maggie, a 9-year-old Golden Retriever that Rebecca just LOVES, she is a very sweet dog:

One more of Maggie:

As we were leaving the park the children pointed out a beautiful sunflower right beside the school:

On Tuesday we went for haircuts, here is the after of Rebecca:

And here is the after of Noah, isn’t that a great haircut? 😉

And one more of Rebecca, who was happy to show off her new do:

That’s all for the moment!

Rainy Weekends…

Filed under: Children,The Natural World — Holly @ 6:02 pm

I think we in Toronto (and I’m sure elsewhere!) have had our share of rainy weekends this summer. We are almost half way through the month, and then summer will be over. So, not having had the chance to get outside to shoot today, I was going through some older shots that I thought I would post on my blog for fun.

20061027.2567.jpg

The rainy shots caught my eye, so I posted a few of them:

Shot with a macro lens:

And then a shot of Harry from the last day of school, as I hadn’t posted it as of yet. He’s tricky to catch as he’ll often ham it up if he sees me pointing the camera his way…but he’s hard to resist with that red hair and green eyes! (Of course I didn’t manage to capture a shot of my son on the last day of school…oh well!)

I’m keeping my fingers crossed that they are wrong about the weather forecast tomorrow…hoping for a sunny day for most of the day! (positive thinking!!!!) 🙂

Holiday Monday and Yesterday

Kids and I went to the park for a bit last Monday. Our second trip to the wading pool this summer…but no bunnies this time.

Noah is enjoying his swimming goggles this summer:

Rebecca, wet from the wading pool:
20080808-_W5I4439.jpg

I thought I’d do some lensbaby shooting, since I haven’t shot with it much lately:
20080808-_W5I4474.jpg

Sunflower, that I saw over a fence, so was a bit tricky to shoot…especially with the lensbaby!
20080808-_W5I4483.jpg

Rebecca, with that lensbaby blur:
20080808-_W5I4487.jpg

We came back home and I caught this quick shot of Rebecca while I BBQ’d some sausage for dinner:
20080808-_W5I4499.jpg

After dinner we went back to the park for scootering and skateboarding:

Almost home, and caught this shot of Noah with his scooter. I didn’t notice, at the time, what appears to be a reflection on the sidewalk from the lights hitting his scooter…which is the only thing I can think that it could be (???):
20080808-_W5I4690.jpg

Yesterday an old friend from high school was dropping by for a very quick photo, the kids helped me test out the light in the front hallway:

20080808-_W5I4715.jpg

Then Diane arrived and I caught this beautiful shot of her. You may remember her from an earlier blog post as well:

Ok, so I’m caught up for the moment, but sure to have some images from the weekend to share soon! Bye for now!

Sunday in Kensington Market

Last Sunday the children and I went with a friend to Kensington Market and met up with a new friend, Jane, and her two children Henry and Sadie. The weather was perfect!

Since it is such a colourful location I decided to really punch the colours up, for fun, in most of the photos.

Here Rebecca holds up a massive sweet potato from one of the outdoor stalls:
20080727-_W5I3366.jpg

Noah watches over Henry as he examines displayed jewelry:
20080727-_W5I3383.jpg

Rebecca also was very good at watching over Henry, as they make their way along the busy sidewalk:
20080727-_W5I3398.jpg

Henry watches his sister in the distance:
20080727-_W5I3409.jpg

We stop for a quick lunch break:
20080727-_W5I3424.jpg

This puppet fellow was so funny! The kids had a great time watching him. Noah was so great with Henry, taking care of him and holding him up to see:
20080727-_W5I3447.jpg

Rebecca, Sadie and Henry check out the puppet:
20080727-_W5I3461.jpg

Noah gets up close and personal with the puppet:

Jane and her kids went home, as it was getting to be nap time, wish they could have stayed for SnoKones…
20080727-_W5I3487.jpg

20080727-_W5I3578.jpg

…and especially the bubbles!

20080727-_W5I3605.jpg

20080727-_W5I3608.jpg

Rebecca takes a break from window shopping, and the bubbles:
20080727-_W5I3620.jpg

So much colour in Kensington Market! Really need to do a couple or a family shoot here I think!
20080727-_W5I3649.jpg

More bubbles!

Noah has a meat paddy for a snack as Rebecca looks on:
20080727-_W5I3826.jpg

Even though he has meat paddy crumbs on his face and shirt, I just LOVE the catch lights in his eyes in this shot:

Will definitely head back to Kensington Market again in the future!

EatSavvy: Commercial Shoot

Some shots from a commercial shoot I did for SavvyMom last month. This is for their new online newsletter, EatSavvy. EatSavvy will be published once a month, and I had a great time doing the shoot. The idea behind the EatSavvy publication is ‘One meal, four ways’, while you have the ingredients on hand you can prepare a family meal, a meal for a toddler, a dinner party version and then plan ahead and freeze a meal for another day. What a great idea! Click here to learn more. (I’m a HUGE fan of SavvyMom and the idea behind their product, and it’s wonderful to work for a company of women who are all SavvyMoms too!)

It was fun to shoot something a little different then I usually shoot, and I look forward to the monthly photography sessions! (If you’re a mom, sign-up and Get Savvy!)
