Out & About & Haircuts

Catch up time again! Kids and I went out the other week, hoping to get haircuts for both of them…unfortunately our haircut place was closed (due to construction on the street and no hot water!), so we ended up just running some errands.

Noah, on Yonge Street:

I can only catch fleeting glances of my daughter at times!

Had Noah pause for a moment, as I knew the out-of-focus ties in the background would offer an interesting colour backdrop:

At the dollar store a fellow asked if we could watch his dog while he ran in for a few minutes. Love how dogs just watch and wait patiently for their owners, you can tell that their owners are their lives, too cute!

Don’t you just love it when your children discover the love of reading? Noah works on finishing his book while we wait for his sister to be finished with her haircut:

Catching Up!

Looking back through my database of photos I realized that I missed posting some to the blog!

Oh, don’t we all wish it was this warm outside now? Love the bokeh of the out-of-focus trees in the background in this shot and the one below:

As I recall I couldn’t get Noah to sit still for long, or even look at the camera!

He did want to scooter though!

Refreshed my look this fall, and took some self portraits, I was happiest these two:

I’ve been trying to perfect my latté art, here are two attempts:

Now, don’t confuse these photographs of my sister, Monica, as more self-portraits! We do look alike, because we are twins! When she was over for Thanksgiving dinner I suggested I take a good photograph of her because she just looked fabulous, don’t you agree? 🙂

The first two images were taken in my front hallway, which gives great light for this, you may remember the photograph of my friend Diane that I took in the same location:

This one was taken in the driveway beside my house. You may remember photographs of my friend Jeff, taken in the same location almost a year ago:

Halloween 2008

Well, I’m a bit behind in my blog posting! Another Halloween has come and gone!

Noah, dressed up for the halloween parade at school:

He was so well disguised that my mother, who was standing right next to me, didn’t recognize him, I had to ask him to remove his mask so she would see him!

Rebecca joined me on walking to collect Noah from school…here she looks quite normal…

Photography Workshop

I had the amazing experience of attending a photography workshop recently. Though rather time consuming to get to from Toronto, it was worth the 11.5 hour journey down and the 13.5 hour journey home.

After we arrived, I went down to the beach:

The next day we did some shooting with one of the instructors:

The next day we did some shooting on the beach. At first Ella was nervous and wanted to hang with her mom:

But then she warmed up to the group:

And then the shoot was over:

We couldn’t get out and about the next day, due to rain and wind, but I managed to captured the following two photos of my roommate, Josée, before we had to head to the airport:

Virgil, our next door neighbour, hung out with us most of the time as well:

And as nice as it is to get away, especially to somewhere so beautiful, it sure is nice to come home again!

Soccer Season!

I used to be caught off guard, in previous years, that soccer would start off on the FIRST week back to school, but I’ve learned now, so we were one of the few people who were actually at the first game. (Thankfully they slowly trickled in so we were able to have a game! I don’t think that it helped that there was confusion with the schedule, it changed at the last minute, so we had people showing up to the wrong park for their game!)
