Signs of Spring in Toronto

Those of us in Toronto know we can’t complain about the (non)winter we just had. I will admit I wish every winter could be the same, but I wouldn’t mind a snow storm or two…as long as it promptly melts! 😉

In Toronto you know spring has sprung when you see the trees flowering and the dandelions popping up all over the green grass:

(Equipment Used: Images captured with the Canon EOS-1D MarkIV and the Canon 85 f1.2L lens, expect for the last Dandelion shot which was captured with the Canon 100 mm f2.8 macro lens.)

Spring is a beautiful time of year for photography, contact me if you’re interested in a spring photography session.

The instructor of the workshop loaned me his Canon 70–200 f2.8L IS lens, as I did not bring mine. Hoping to get some close-ups of cows and horses before trip is through:

Mother’s Day: Toronto Family Photographer

Last Sunday the kids and I went over to my mother’s for lunch and a nice visit for Mother’s Day. Met this beautiful cat a few doors down from my mother’s house.

(Equipment Used: All shots in this blog post were taken with my beloved Canon 85 f1.2L lens.)

A shot of Simon hanging out on the sofa:

A few shots of Mylo, who was hiding upstairs away from the kids:

Poor, sweet Simon has a horrible condition called Syringomyelia, which is currently causing him to drag one of his paws, so my mother puts on a protective bootie before he goes out for a walk:

Rebecca’s checks out her little tree across the street from my mother’s house. She received this little tree as a sapling from the Montessori school she attended, upon graduation from SK:

Noah enjoys running with Simon, we are off to the park to have a bit of a break before dessert:

Noah enjoyed throwing Simon’s kong for him:

My mother is always so stylish! Doesn’t she looks beautiful in her blue outfit?

Noah awaits Simon’s return with the kong to throw it again for him:

Love the out-of-focus dandelions in this shot:

Noah brought ‘Mr. Bill’ with him for the outing to my mother’s and the park:

All that running around, you built up a thirst!

First Softball Game of the Year

It was the first softball game of the year this past week, so off we went to the local park.

(See “My Camera Equipment” in footer section for links/more information on camera equipment used.)

Caught this shot of Rebecca’s funky shoes and bag before we left the house, shot with the Canon 85 f1.2L lens:
20090507-_W5I5927.jpg

Captured some spring tulips, while they’re still around, on the way to the game, shot with the Canon 85 f1.2L lens:

Once we arrived at the game I switched to the Canon 70–200 f2.8L IS lens for the increase focal length, Noah waits for his turn at bat:

Receives some instruction:

It’s a hit!
20090507-_W5I6014.jpg

Yeah! Made it to base!
20090507-_W5I6027.jpg

While Noah was busy playing softball, Rebecca played with the younger brother of one of Noah’s friends, they were playing ‘catch’:

William had a great time!

Another shot of Rebecca’s funky shoes:
20090507-_W5I5987.jpg

Switched back to the Canon 85 f1.2L lens for the walk home, to captured some more flower shots…

…and then I saw this beautiful cat in a neighbours yard:
20090507-_W5I6091.jpg

Such beautiful blue eyes! Wish we could have a cat, alas allergies prevent it at the moment:
