CNE 2013 Photo Round-Up: Toronto Photography

What fun being an official CNE blogger was! Fun to visit the CNE multiple times, and especially fun to photograph it!

This is my sixth, and last, blog posting about this years CNE. My first blog posting (see it here) was from my opening day visit to the CNE, some beautiful sunset shots of the many rides. My second blog posting on the CNE (see it here) was all about the yummy treats that can be found there. My third blog posting was about the CNE games (see it here). Fourth posting was all about the CNE Farm Building and the adorable animals found there (see it here). Fifth was all about the CNE Air Show, find it here.

So this blog posting is just a round up of images I hadn’t posted, so let’s get started with this cool shot of the CNE Zip Line ride with a beautiful cloud filled backdrop:

CNE 2013 Games: Toronto Photography

I’m one of ten official CNE bloggers, this is my third blog post about the CNE this year. This one is about the full games you can play.

I’m sure you’ll be able to figure out that I simply loved photographing the Ring Around the Bottle game! The repetition, the fading off into bokeh, processed in a nostalgistic way, definitely a fave!

CNE 2013: Toronto Photography

I’m one of ten official CNE Bloggers this year, which means multiple trips to the CNE, and fun photographic possibilities.

Summer is fast coming to a close, so any excuse to be outside enjoying a balmy summer evening is wonderful. I’ve been timing my visits for the afternoon/evening for the best light for photography. In this blog post I’ll be sharing images from the various rides at the CNE.

This one is a fave. I wished I’d had a longer focal length, as I had to crop it a little, but just love this shot with the setting sun in the corner, and the people silhouetted as they await their turn on the Zip Line, a new ride this year at the CNE:

I’m not sure of the name of this ride…swinging people against a sky of blue:

Captured the same evening as the Zip Line ride image at the beginning of the blog post, this is the Blitzer Roller Coaster:

Another from the same night, I think this is the Ferris Wheel ride:

Cat Update: Toronto Pet Photography

I posted a Zoe the cat update recently, so here’s an update on Alice and Finnegan.

Alice loves to sit at the kitchen window and look out at the world, and I love photographing her through the screen, think it adds an interesting element to the photo:

Both cats love to snooze on the coffee bag, filled with green beans, in what will one day be a pantry area. I guess it’s like sleeping on a bean bag chair. Love Alice’s blue eyes in this shot:

Finnegan hanging out in the kitchen:

Finnegan on a dining room chair, likely wondering why I’m taking his picture yet again, lol:

Alice wasn’t a fan of the hairball (fur ball?) medication, so we smeared some on her nose, forcing her to consume it (it’s for her own good!), now she likes it, and will lick it off an offered finger:

And Then There Were Two… : Toronto Pet Photography

Yes, we are now a two cat household as Zoe has moved on to a better place…and is a much happier cat because of it.

She was really stressed living with the two other cats, especially Alice who really seemed to despise her for some reason. So we found her a new home where she is a one and only, and she has settled in beautifully. We hope to be paying a visit to her soon, and I’ll definitely try and capture some photos of her in her new abode.

Here’s a last macro close-up I took of her, going to miss those green eyes of hers:

Close up of Zoe

Love this shot of Finnegan, he looks a little wind blown hanging out under the dining room table. He didn’t seem to miss Zoe at all, but he’s a laid back kinda guy:

Wind blown Finnegan

Alice, on the other hand, was looking around for Zoe at the first meal time after she was gone. She would also come out into the main part of the apartment in the morning looking around for her.

I actually got Zoe to look at me for a nice shot of her, yea! 🙂

Zoe looking at me from table

We REALLY spoiled her in her last few days with us, letting her lick out food bowls. She was in heaven! She loves her snacks/treats/meal time:

Zoe collage

Alice loves looking out the windows. She seems much more relaxed now that Zoe is gone. I guess it was stressful for her as well:

We could never leave toys out for the cats to play with when Zoe was here, because otherwise we’d be awoken in the middle of the night with Zoe’s insane meowing. She liked to walk around with the toy in her mouth meowing/howling to the world. You can see Alice watching below for me to throw one of her fave toys, which is a white furry ball that makes noise when it moves. Last photo is her curled up underneath a chair ottoman:
