Out & About & Haircuts

Catch up time again! Kids and I went out the other week, hoping to get haircuts for both of them…unfortunately our haircut place was closed (due to construction on the street and no hot water!), so we ended up just running some errands.

Noah, on Yonge Street:

I can only catch fleeting glances of my daughter at times!

20081129-_MG_1242.jpg

Had Noah pause for a moment, as I knew the out-of-focus ties in the background would offer an interesting colour backdrop:

At the dollar store a fellow asked if we could watch his dog while he ran in for a few minutes. Love how dogs just watch and wait patiently for their owners, you can tell that their owners are their lives, too cute!

Rebecca, giving me the ‘look’:

In one of my son’s FAVOURITE stores, “Kidding Awound”, Rebecca checks out the merchandise:

Noah enjoys the garden/park in Yorkville:

Colourful holiday shop windows make for a very good background:

Finally, we return for hair cuts!

Don’t you just love it when your children discover the love of reading? Noah works on finishing his book while we wait for his sister to be finished with her haircut:

Rebecca, with her new hairdo. (Unfortunately she hates it now! lol)

That’s all for the moment, but will be posting more in a day or two!

Holly, I just always love the color you achieve…..always just a touch cool which is just my style too! ( wish I could get my skin tones as creamy as yours!)

So Lovely Jewelry: Product Photography, Toronto, Ontario

Today I am showcasing my friend Deborah’s beautiful jewelry. She had an in-home show this week, and I popped over before to photograph her product. All shots were taken with the Canon 100 mm f2.8 macro lens, a macro lens helps tremendously with shots such as these.

She sold quite a bit, but she also has some pieces still available. She does custom work, and if you see something here that has sold she can re-create it for you. Please contact her directly by clicking here.

On to the beautiful creations now!

Close-up of a beautiful funky (and perfect for dressy too!) necklace:

Thanks Halina, but my friend Deborah created the jewelry, I’m just the photographer. 🙂

Catching Up!

Looking back through my database of photos I realized that I missed posting some to the blog!

Oh, don’t we all wish it was this warm outside now? Love the bokeh of the out-of-focus trees in the background in this shot and the one below:

My children, showing some sibling love!

20081013-_W5I8850.jpg

As I recall I couldn’t get Noah to sit still for long, or even look at the camera!

20081013-_W5I8861.jpg

He did want to scooter though!

20081013-_W5I8869.jpg

Refreshed my look this fall, and took some self portraits, I was happiest these two:

20081003-_W5I8362-4.jpg

20081003-_W5I8387-Edit-3.jpg

I’ve been trying to perfect my latté art, here are two attempts:

20081107-_W5I0624.jpg

20081013-_W5I8902.jpg

Now, don’t confuse these photographs of my sister, Monica, as more self-portraits! We do look alike, because we are twins! When she was over for Thanksgiving dinner I suggested I take a good photograph of her because she just looked fabulous, don’t you agree? 🙂

The first two images were taken in my front hallway, which gives great light for this, you may remember the photograph of my friend Diane that I took in the same location:

20081013-_W5I8917.jpg

20081013-_W5I8922.jpg

This one was taken in the driveway beside my house. You may remember photographs of my friend Jeff, taken in the same location almost a year ago:

That’s all for now!

Halloween 2008

Well, I’m a bit behind in my blog posting! Another Halloween has come and gone!

Noah, dressed up for the halloween parade at school:

20081031-_W5I0403.jpg

He was so well disguised that my mother, who was standing right next to me, didn’t recognize him, I had to ask him to remove his mask so she would see him!

20081031-_W5I0407.jpg

Rebecca joined me on walking to collect Noah from school…here she looks quite normal…

20081031-_W5I0430.jpg

…and here she is done up for halloween night!

20081031-_W5I0448.jpg

Sitting on our neighbours front steps:

20081031-_W5I0454.jpg

With our neighbours daughter, Alison, the child vampire!

20081031-_W5I0505.jpg

And just one more shot of her, black nail polish would have finished the look I think!

Noah, practicing for the night ahead:

Thought this was a cool shot with the lit up windows of the house in the background:

And, last but not least, (as I did last year) some halloween pumpkins from the night!
