(**UPDATE** you can see the sneak peek, from Jeanine’s Project Love Photography Session, here.)

First of all, thank you so much to everyone who entered! It was a difficult decision to make, but with the help of my fellow judges, Monica, from Just Around the Corner (an upscale neighbourhood newsletter about local shops and services), and Janine, from beautygeeks (a fabulous blog about ALL things beauty), I have come to a decision.

Congratulations to Jeanine! Jeanine sent me the following email:

Hi Holly,
Thought I’d give the contest a whirl. I would LOVE to win so I could have some pictures taken of me and my beautiful baby daughter Brigitte. It’s just the two of us and although I love taking pictures of her (she’s 5 months now) we have very limited pictures of the two of us which I can snap with a free hand 🙂

I’m 41 years old – getting pregnant with Gigi was my 40th birthday present :).

I’m so lucky to have her and would love to have some pictures that show this.

Thanks so much,

Jeanine

And demonstrating how difficult it is to photograph herself and her daughter, she included this image:

Congratulations again Jeanine, I will be emailing you shortly to set up our session date! And for those that entered, but did not win, watch your email for a special offer from Holly Sisson Photography just for entering!

Watch for my photography session with Jeanine and Brigitte on this photography blog. Thanks again to everyone who entered and supported Project Love.

Turtle, Softball & Fun Fair: Toronto Family Photographer

We actually had a beautiful night for softball last week, and as we passed a local park, on the way to the game, I saw my neighbour out with his turtle, Rusty, so stopped and grabbed some very quick shots:

Then we continued on our way…

Though had to pause for a moment to tie up our shoes…

Then we were flying down the stairs to the game:

Only a few more games left. I brought the Canon 24–70 mm f2.8L lens for a change rather then my usual Canon 70–200 f2.8L IS lens:

This past weekend was the yearly ‘Fun Fair’ at my son’s school, so here’s a few shots from the day. Noah volunteered for the dunk tank, his sister and her friend from school hit the button to dunk him:

Afterward he dried off:

Rebecca also took a turn in the dunk tank, but I missed the big event, BOO!

This was really funny! Aiden Orange, who was recently on The Ellen Show, was performing at the school Fun Fair! The kids and I just recently saw the episode, I didn’t recognize him until he started the lawnmower trick! The BIG dream of my Project Love event is to photograph Ellen & Portia for their upcoming one year anniversary on August 16th. You can see the youtube video about my quest here. Or read more about the Toronto part of Project Love here.

The Fun Fair was a fabulous success, and the weather was perfect this year! Once the fair is done I just know that the end of the school year will be here before we know it!

ProjectLoveLogoWLgHeart.jpg

The winner of the local photography session for Project Love has been announced! Click here to see the blog post announcing the winner!

****Entries for Project Love have been extended (see below) due to an event to be held on July 23rd promoting Project Love. Please click here to view the blog posting about this event, and to see details of who will be helping me to judge the Project Love entries!****

Project Love is officially launched! This project was inspired by the love that I witnessed between Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi in their wedding video.

Part of the dream is to travel to L.A. to photograph Ellen and Portia for their upcoming wedding anniversary on August 16th. (If you are on twitter, please send an @ message to theellenshow to let them know about this project! twitter.com/theellenshow)

Noah, Rebecca and I are fans of both The Ellen Show and Portia’s new show, ‘Better Off Ted’. Noah is especially enthusiastic, and created a wonderful poster for Project Love, which you can see in the following youtube video:

The local dream is to celebrate Love in Toronto by holding a contest in which the winner will have a complimentary photography session with me.

Here’s how to enter: email me a jpg photograph of who you love and why you would love to win the photography session. See below for further details/requirements*. If I can get Ellen’s attention, perhaps she will help with the judging! Otherwise I will be announcing local judges soon.

So, whether you are a family:
